Glassesshare Invests $3.5M in Smart Production Line Upgrade to Boost OEM/ODM Capacity
SHANGHAI, China – March 18, 2025 – Glassesshare, a renowned eyewear OEM/ODM manufacturer, announced today a $3.5 million investment in upgrading its production base in Jiangsu Province, focusing on intelligent manufacturing and capacity expansion. The project, which includes the installation of 18 automated production lines and the adoption of AI-driven quality control systems, is expected to increase the company’s annual production capacity by 40% to 8 million units and reduce production lead times by 25% upon completion in December 2025.
As the global eyewear market continues to recover and demand for customized products surges, Glassesshare’s production upgrade comes at a strategic time. The company’s existing production facility, covering 5,000 square meters, has been operating at near-full capacity, handling orders for optical frames, sunglasses, and functional eyewear from over 50 countries. The new investment will expand the facility by an additional 2,000 square meters and introduce advanced technologies to optimize the entire production process from raw material processing to final assembly.
A key highlight of the upgrade is the implementation of automated production lines for frame molding, polishing, and assembly. Equipped with industrial robots and precision machinery, these lines will significantly reduce manual intervention, improving production efficiency and product consistency. “Manual processing often leads to variations in product quality and longer lead times. With automated lines, we can achieve a defect rate of less than 0.3%, which is well below the industry average of 1.2%,” said Michael Zhang, Production Director at Glassesshare. “This will be a game-changer for our OEM/ODM business, especially for large-volume orders from global brands.”
In addition to automation, Glassesshare is integrating AI-powered quality control systems into its production process. These systems use high-resolution cameras and machine learning algorithms to inspect every detail of the eyewear, including frame dimensions, surface smoothness, and hardware fittings, ensuring that all products meet international quality standards such as ISO 9001 and CE certification. “Our clients, especially those in Europe and North America, have strict quality requirements. The AI QC system will enable us to provide real-time quality data and traceability reports, enhancing transparency and trust,” explained Michael Zhang.
The production upgrade also emphasizes sustainability, aligning with global environmental trends and the company’s commitment to green manufacturing. The new production lines will adopt energy-saving technologies, reducing electricity consumption by 30%, and introduce a closed-loop recycling system for plastic waste generated during production. “Sustainability is no longer an option but a necessity in the global supply chain. Our upgraded facility will help us meet the growing demand for eco-friendly production from our clients,” said Alex Wang, CEO of Glassesshare. “We aim to achieve a 50% reduction in carbon emissions per unit by 2026.”
The investment is expected to strengthen Glassesshare’s position in the global eyewear OEM/ODM market. According to industry reports, the global eyewear market is projected to reach $200 billion by 2028, with OEM/ODM services accounting for a significant share of the growth. Glassesshare’s enhanced production capacity and technological capabilities will enable it to better serve its existing clients, including several well-known retail chains and emerging DTC brands, while attracting new business opportunities in high-growth segments such as smart eyewear and sustainable eyewear.
To support the project, local government authorities have provided policy incentives, including tax breaks and subsidies, recognizing Glassesshare’s contribution to the development of the local eyewear industry cluster. “We are grateful for the government’s support. This investment reflects our confidence in the long-term growth of the eyewear industry and our commitment to providing top-tier OEM/ODM solutions,” said Alex Wang. The company plans to hire an additional 100 employees, including engineers and skilled workers, to support the expanded production capacity.
